History

A wine production company, founded in 1893, Schenk S.A. in Rolle sells its wines exclusively to wine merchants, supermarkets and wholesalers. Due to the complexity of marketing channels, the name "Schenk" never appears on labels. Only the names of the cellars or producers who sell their production to the Rolle company or whose wines are imported by them are printed on the labels.

                                                     1915
In 1915, Arnold Schenk, working with his father-in-law, Albert Rolaz, took over the management of the regional wine trading activity. His success and conquering spirit were to contribute to the financing of the Company's expansion in Switzerland and abroad.

In an era when the acquisition of land and property was far from speculative, Arnold Schenk did not hesitate to purchase large vineyard estates such as the "Château de Châtagneréaz" in Mont-sur-Rolle, the "Château de Vinzel" or the "Domaine du Martheray", in Féchy. These estates whose crus (selected wines) are now renowned, have enhanced the reputation of La Côte wines.

Not long after the end of the Second World War, the Schenk group already had footholds in Germany (Baden-Baden) and Benelux (Brussels), skilfully combining its activities in wine-producing countries and sales strategies in wine-importing countries

The expansion set in motion by Arnold Schenk, who died in 1962, was decisive. It enabled the Company to which were vital for its future. The future of the Rolle Company is closely tied to the world of wine and Schenk today, has to confront problems from overproduction, the liberalisation and instability of the market, the changes in the agricultural world to the currently prevailing economic and structural difficulties.

The skills of the Company's management and staff and the services provided to all distribution and consumption intermediaries are the best guarantees of the certainty of a profitable future.
