In the southern part of Burgundy, between Mâcon and Lyon, is situated a nice hilly country where legions of Gamay stocks produce Beaujolais.

Beaujolais
Nice purple colour with violet glints.
Fruity nose; tasty and fresh in mouth, this wine goes well with cooked pork meat, terrine, beef filet and soft cheese.

Beaujolais-Villages
A little more robust than Beaujolais, finer and more generous, it is better when drunk young, "for thirst" or along a meal.

Saint-Amour
The best vintages give fruity and delicate wines to drink young.

Juliénas
With a deep red colour Juliénas is very fruity and structured.

Moulin-à-Vent
A granite soil gives this wine a Burgundy look: deep colour, full-bodied, vinous and chewy in mouth.

Fleurie
Recognized by its spring floral character, Fleurie is elegant and sensually round. Its freshness and softness still express after some years.

Chiroubles
It is Upper Beaujolais' Cinderella. With light and delicate fruity flavours, its young grace and suppleness have to be discovered after two or three years.

Morgon
Grown on a strongly schistose soil, Morgon expresses gooseberry and cherry aromas. With a dark-red colour, Morgon has a reputation for a structured and full-bodied wine.

Le Brouilly
It is the more Southerner Beaujolais'cru. Coloured, strong with elegant bouquet, Brouilly expresses its robustness from its earliest youth.
