Arthur Barolet et Fils
This name means quality. Since 1830, this famous society has been offering wines marked with Dr. Barolet's legendary personality. Just after picking up, he was used to select young powerful wines among the best wine producers. Then, he matured them in oak barrels for many years to get crus able to age.
When he died, in 1969, Dr. Barolet let a unique collection of 160.000 bottles from 1911 to 1966 vintages. |  |
Moreover, he left two hundred 228-litres casks in which wines were slowly maturing. The oldest one was a 1954 vintage. He bequeathed to Mrs. Bertrand-Barolet, his sister, this wine fortune.
Since this date, the firm passed in other hands, changing neither the name nor Dr. Barolet's philosophy. The company possesses well maintained vineyards, a part of which is Clos des Guettes, a famous Savigny-les-Beaune's first cru. For the other appellations, the best vatfuls of wine growers producing high quality wines are selected and matured truely to Barolet's tradition.
