This warm and pleasant wine will be served as aperitif or with a dessert (Tatin or lemon tart, ice cream, fruit cake)
It goes well with a blue cheese such as Roquefort
It is delicious with a foie gras

GRAPE VARIETY
Muscat of Alexandria, Muscat petits grains

  

The natural soft wines are fortified. They have high contents of natural sugar and alcohol because their fermentation is stopped by adding grape spirit before all sugar is converted into alcohol. This process was discovered in 1285, under the Kings of Majorca, by Arnau de Vilanova.

 


In Languedoc Roussillon people are used to drink Muscats as aperitif or with a dessert.
