The construction of current Château de Mont goes back to the end of 15th century or beginning of 16th. In 1517, it definitively became the residence of the barons of Mont-le-Grand. With the conquest of the Berneses in 1536, François de Bellegarde, the third husband of Claude de Saint-Triviers, was recognized lord of Mont-le-Grand by the occupant. Acquired in 1553 by the Steiger family, last dynasty of the lords of Mont, the seignory remained in hands of this family until the Revolution. At that time, the field was sold to Joseph Bouër, a financier, member of the Council of Geneva, and originating from France. His wife accommodated many Genevese peoples when their city was threatened by the French army, which involved a very animated life in Château de Mont.

In 1809, the castle passed to a Bernese person, Karl Jenner. Charles-Louis de Watteville acquired the property and resold it in 1845 to Frederic Bouffard. In 1895, Bouffard inheritance sold it to three vine growers of Mont : Henri Meylan, Henri Rosset and Henri Renaud, called the three Henri at the village. Three years later, the castle passed to the hands of Charles Mérinat, of Ollon, which in its turn, fault of having been able to refund its loans, resold it on January 5th, 1911 to the Genevese Ernest Naef. Property of inheritance Ernest Naef, in 1971 the field became that of François Naef, Ernest’s grand-son and Bernard’s son.
