Switzerland

The label language: 
Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) / label guaranteeing the origin of wine: such wines are produced in a specific area, with grapes coming from allowed vine varieties, with defined growing methods, output and quality controls.
Château: grape crop comes from the vineyard belonging to the estate on which an historic building is situated.
Terravin: is a Vaud quality label for country wine (vin de pays). This wine is defined by indicating the area where it grows (e.i. Chasselas Romand).
Label Vinatura: special label attributed to 1st class wines of which vines are grown in organic cultivation.
Label Bio-Vinatura: a Vitiswiss registered label for organic cultivation on a specific part of a wine estate.
Label Bourgeon Bio (figured by a bud): guarantees sound, eco-friendly wines of high quality.

VAUD VINEYARD
Surface: 3.880 hectares
Characteristics: various wines made from chasselas grapes, each one with a typical terroir.

Grape variety:
Chasselas 70%, Pinot noir, Gamay
Specialities: Chardonnay, Pinot blanc

Wine producing regions / Appellations:
La Côte : Morges, Féchy, Mont-sur-Rolle, Tartegnin, Coteaux de Vincy, Vinzel, Luins, Begnins, Nyon
Lavaux : Lutry, Villette, Epesses, Calamin, Dézaley,     St-Saphorin, Montreux
Chablais : Villeneuve, Yvorne, Aigle, Ollon, Bex
Nord Vaudois : Côtes-de-l’Orbe, Bonvillars, Vully (VD)

GENEVA VINEYARD
Surface: 1500 hectares
Climate: different according to the areas (micro-climates)
Characteristics: typical character of each type of vine is carefully brought out
Wine producing villages: Satigny, Russin, Dardagny all on the Rhône river and Lake of Geneva right bank (making the area named Mandement).

Grape variety:
Chasselas (approx. 40%), Gamay (approx 35%), Pinot noir (10%) 
Specialities: Riesling Sylvaner, Chardonnay, Aligoté, Pinot gris, Pinot blanc.

VALAIS VINEYARD
Surface: 5200 hectares
Climate: dry, sunny, influenced by the foehn (a hot wind blowing in the Rhône valley).
Characteristics: many native types of vine (red and white). Fendant (made from Chasselas vine); Dôle (blend of Pinot noir and Gamay with Pinot noir dominance).
